| Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s anti-gypsy campaign is un-Christian, Italian Protestant leaders have claimed, and have called for the government to soften its crackdown on illegal immigration.
While the law must be applied equally to Italians and “clandestini” (illegal immigrants), the moderator of the Waldensian Church in Italy the Rev Maria Bonafede said, “as Christians we must affirm and witness that even the Roma people [gypsies] are our neighbours.” Read it all in The Church of England Newspaper. |
