Abbey service to commemorate Korean War Armistice: The Church of England Newspaper, July 21, 2013 July 19, 2013

Westminster Abbey played host on 11 July 2013 for a Service of Thanksgiving to Commemorate the Sixtieth Anniversary of the end of Hostilities in the Korean War.

Nearly 300 veterans marched from Horse Guards Parade to Westminster Abbey led by the Royal Artillery Band, in tribute to all those who fought in the campaign, including more than 1,000 British Service personnel who lost their lives.

The Dean of Westminster The Very Rev John Hall in the presence of HRH The Duke of Gloucester led the service which closed with the laying of wreaths on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and Major General Sir Peter Downward KCVO CB DSO DFC, Patron of the British Korean Veterans Association.
